Princess Nokia releases new video for ‘Morphine’ from A Girl Cried Red

Morphine‘ is the latest video from Princess Nokia’s latest mixtape, A Girl Cried Red (Rough Trade Records). The shape shifting emcee—aka Destiny Frasqueri—co-directed the video with Travis Libin and features Frasqueri and her friends taking their taking their DIY rave to NYC rooftops, playgrounds and streets. The track was produced by Flexatelli and the video features a short snippet of an unreleased track by Princess Nokia and Owwwls. Watch the video for ‘Morphine’ below.


The dynamic and outspoken New York rapper has been releasing music via YouTube and Soundcloud since she was in high school and catapulted herself to the next level with her 2017 album
1992 Deluxe—selling out venues across the globe and steadily gaining tens of millions of streams. A Girl Cried Red showcases another fully formed side of Destiny that still taps into the uncompromising feminist ideology of Princess Nokia, and will undoubtedly cement her place in the alternative underground as well as the hip-hop world.
