Sharon Van Etten’s new album, We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong, released earlier this year on Jagjaguwar, is “one of the most empathic, visceral and re-playable albums of the year’s first half” (Billboard).
Today, Van Etten announces We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong (Deluxe Edition), out November 11th on Jagjaguwar, and presents the new single/lyric video, ‘Never Gonna Change.’ Compiling her standalone singles – ‘Porta’ and ‘Used To It’ – alongside two previously unreleased bonus tracks – ‘When I Die’ and ‘Never Gonna Change’ – We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong (Deluxe Edition) is the most complete presentation of Van Etten’s 2022. ‘Never Gonna Change,’ co-produced by Van Etten and Daniel Knowles, “is about managing depression and anxiety in the midst of isolation,” Van Etten says. “Coping with recurring fears throughout adulthood, acknowledging that flaws, fears and triggers can’t be overcome, they are a constant part of one’s identity to learn to be at peace with.”
Surrounding the release of We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong, Van Etten received a wealth of glowing reviews, performed ‘Mistakes‘ on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and embarked on the “soul-strengthening” (The New Yorker) Wild Hearts Tour with Angel Olsen and Julien Baker.
