Shura, who has just released her debut album Nothing’s Real, has morphed Hannah Rodgers’ woozy paean into a synth pop anthem that could fill the dancefloor. “I feel like this remix is an extension of my Space Tapes – the idea of taking a track and making it sound as if it had been made on the moon,” says the artist born Aleksandra Denton. “I’m a big fan of Hannah/Pixx so it was really exciting to be able to play around with these stems and travel to a different universe with them.”
Hannah is currently working on a debut Pixx album, details to follow soon. In the interim she will be a part of Lauren Laverne’s Wonder Women event next week, and has also been confirmed as the main support opening for Glass Animals on their forthcoming October headline UK tour.
Pixx is the creative alias of Hannah Rodgers who hails from Chipstead, just beyond the fringes of south London, England, where suburban sprawl starts to break into countryside. Born to a music-loving family, her creative talents were recognised early on, earning her a place at The BRIT School, the renowned performing arts college located near her home. Inspired by the likes of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Aphex Twin and adopting her grandmother’s nickname, she is finally striking it out alone.
