Festival spokesperson, Matthew Davis reflects:
“This has been one of the most challenging and complex periods for the NZ music community. From the 2020 festival cancelling through to lockdowns and date changes, we want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported and worked with us through it.
Not only can we look forward to seeing the festival go ahead in January 2022, but we are also thrilled to present another amazingly talented and diverse all local lineup across some of the finest live music venues in Auckland. Plus, we have some exciting site changes and additions to the set-up that we will be announcing soon.”
The Others Way has long been recognised for the vibrancy of the industry and local business and Jamey Holloway, CEO of The Karangahape Road Business Association, says, “The Others Way is a total calendar highlight for Karangahape Road. Can’t wait for the summer edition.”

Beloved indie heroes, The Beths, who was scheduled to perform, will instead be taking Karangahape Road to the world as they tour the United States and Europe – and we wish them well. Fur Patrol will also not be performing as they cannot get a critical member back over from Melbourne for the date – Julia Deans will instead be performing solo. And, Proteins Of Magic who were scheduled to play in 2021 have headed back to Nashville.
Third time’s a charm – and we’re tremendously proud to present The Others Way 2021 (now in 2022!).
