North Carolina-based producer Cubby shares a new single. ‘Bing‘ features vocals from LA-based electro-pop artist Madge and marks the pair’s third collaboration following their previously-released single ‘Falling‘ and Cubby’s remix of Madge’s ‘Fight or Flight Club.’ The new track continues the duo’s ability to build a duality within their songs, weaving together stretches of high-octane, pounding production with understated and angelic vocals from Madge. The single’s accompanying visual, co-directed by Hudson Hower and Cubby himself, find the pair struggling with an old dirt bike in a barren junkyard, only to bring it to life as the video comes to a close.
Cubby, who relocated to North Carolina from Brooklyn in 2015, spent the last few years focusing on scoring short films and other creative projects, most recently scoring Jared Hogan’s short film Pray for the Children. With Atlanta only a short drive away from his new home of North Carolina, Cubby worked with a diverse array of artists including Atlanta rappers Rome Fortune and OG Maco in addition to his own releases, producing all but one track of Fortune’s 2016 album Jarome Raheem Fortune and collaborating with Haleek Maul on his 2018 EP In Permanence. Now, the producer has refocused his attention to his own sound, with ‘Falling’ serving as the first of many offerings of new music from Cubby and Madge to come this year.
