As with previous dynamic duos Black Keys and White Stripes, you’re offered a soulful, howling vocalist/ guitarist (David Novak) and a hefty, no-frills drummer (John-Henry Pajak), the sound a punky retread of 60s R’n’B. Both men pledge allegiance to Stax/Motown, their soul moves refracted through a lens of their favourite garage rock bands: The Stooges and The Strokes.”

POLISH CLUB
‘ALRIGHT ALREADY’
NZ SHOWS

Friday 30th June,
Whammy! Bar – AUCKLAND

with support from
RACING & LIQUID LIVERS

RACING is a swirling sea of groove and hypnosis. Think rock and roll anthems drenched in strange tropical dance music. They are an Auckland four piece that have managed to take rock and roll music and inject it with a chemical haze so ominous and dangerous that it leaves you feeling both pleased and punished.

Auckland-based two-piece LIQUID LIVERS marries the big beat of TWO WOLVES to the scuzz groove of BLOODBAGS! Bass and drums, filling the space left to them, with as much good time evil rhythms as they can muster. Two’s company, there’s a crowd, one amp, cans and china, it can be just as loud.

Saturday 1st July,
Meow – WELLINGTON

with support from BEATCOMBER

Hailing from the Harbour City, BEATCOMBER are a self-credited lo-fi guitar garage pop band. The quirky five-friend lineup deliver super delayed sonic pop, infused with spasming psychedelia and distortion. Inspired by the likes of Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard,

Tickets on sale for both shows now via undertheradar

The howling Sydney rock-soul duo comprised of Novak (guitar/vocals) and John-Henry (drums) are crossing the ditch for two shows in New Zealand this winter on the back of their debut album Alright Already which was released March 31 on Double Double Records/Island Records. The album follows on from the band’s 2015 self titled debut EP.

“HIGH-OCTANE, SWEATY ROCK & ROLL” – Rolling Stone

Alright Already is a Stax meets Stooges slab of highly combustible bunker soul tunes, Novak and John-Henry recorded the album in eight days with Wolf & Cub’s Wade Keighran keeping his head down as sparks flew over the mixing desk, the collaborate result is a savage swing of vintage rock’n’roll colliding with a pleading pitch of classic, gravel-gargling soul.

Their shows are loud, raw and sweaty and the duo straight off the back of their sold out Australian album tour are set to blow New Zealand audiences away!
