Big News! The National are releasing their hugely successful fifth studio album High Violet as an expanded edition on 22nd November. The announcement comes at the end of a frantic week for NZ fans as they frantically try to secure tickets to one of the January shows. Both shows have now sold out. The band are trying to get a work-around to play to as many fans as possible… but please don’t be too cross with them if they can’t.
So what have we got to look forward to with this new release? The High Violet: Expanded Edition is going to be made available as a double cd package or digital download. (The original vinyl edition of High Violet on vinyl LP and I’d highly recommend you get yourself a copy of that gorgeous thing if you haven’t already. )
On top of the as the original 11 track recording included in the package is a bonus disc of eight songs including alternate version of Terrible Love, two brand new songs Wake Up Your Saints and You Were A Kindness, b-sides Walk Off and Sin Eaters plus three live recordings.
