STEVE GUNN ACOUSTIC UNSEEN EP SURPRISE RELEASE OUT TODAY

Americana/blues troubadour, Steve Gunn, shares Acoustic Unseen today via Matador/Rhythmethod. The special release is an acoustic collection of songs from Gunn’s internationally acclaimed record The Unseen In Between released earlier this year. Following a year of worldwide touring and road testing the songs with a full band and in solo performances, the seven-track collection presents a spellbinding perspective on this stately set – disclosing the songs’ rich individual elements in Gunn’s dexterous and lyrical guitar style. Alongside today’s special release, an incredible line-up of local support artists is announced for Steve Gunn’s forthcoming six-date NZ tour beginning November 6th. Gunn will be supported by a joyous collection of some of New Zealand’s most revered poets and solo performers, including Hera Lindsay Bird (poetry performance), Ben Woods (singer-songwriter – solo), Bob Scott (solo performance – The Bats), Ben Brown (poetry performance) and Tayi Tibble (poetry performance) and Danica Bryant (singer-songwriter – solo).

Accompanying the EP release is new short film Unseen Anthology. Directed by Craig McNeil, Unseen Anthology is a collage of footage captured during touring, live sessions and general wanderings across the US, UK and Europe over the past year whilst promoting The Unseen In Between. It’s an engrossing, one-stop-shop document of an artist in need of little more than a guitar and his voice to conjure a transfixing atmosphere, and an arresting visual companion to the acoustic EP.
